BIOGRAPHY
Christophe Catelain is a plastic artist-photographer coming from a ‘Contemporary and urban’ environment. He was born in France in 1972.
« I am passionate about photography. It never left me! Being very fond of the
U.S., I began creating digital compositions following 9/11. As a former Parisian
fireman it felt natural to pay tribute to the victims of the World Trade Centre as
much as to the 343 firemen who lost their lives on this tragic day. Thus the first
series “No More War “was born. It has been a relentless work, developing my
composition technique using messages, nods to Pop Culture, and tributes as
the background for the series. A blend of Pop Culture, Street Art, and photos I
took traveling around the world.

Imbued by the Pop Art movement and its culture, influenced by Street Art; Christophe’s “visuals”, composed with thousands of images all interwoven and blending with each other. These now come in several shapes and materials using different technics (e.g. Plexiglass & Wood sculptures, LED casings, plexiglass sheets series) and have been exhibited in New-York, Singapore, Paris, Dubai, Los-Angeles, Milan and Gstaad...
Christophe is a maverick, becoming more and more committed to an “Art and Peace” approach to composing. His series are nods to the “Love, Freedom, No More War” movements along with being a tribute to those.
